imchk

imchk is a small Perl script created to allow users of AOL's AOL Instant Messenger network to be able to check their most recent IMs in real-time, via a mobile device such as a cell phone or PDA.

Current version is .01. imchk requires no libraries, and simply uses Perl to output screen names and messages in WML (Wireless Markup Language), a language similar to HTML.

imchk, when no arguments are passed, will output a list of the last seven or so people from whom you have received an instant message, and, when you select the hyperlink of the screen name you wish to view, it will output the last eight lines of text you have received from them.

imchk is released under the GNU General Public License, which means you are free to modify and redistribute the source code, so long as you leave credit to the original author(s) intact.
